    Electrochemical polishing means low cost metallic lustre.

    Purpose of electrochemical polishing of article of any shape is to obtain a homogenous sheen near to lustre.It shows that stainless steel is one of most durable materials used in many industries. What to do however, when processing this material at client facility, it does not fulfill high expectations of final customer. These may be low surface resistance to specific chemicals, hard to remove surface contaminations, or when special certificates regarding surface properties are required. Most of these deficiencies may be overcome by ECM Sp. z o.o. with its staff of specialists experienced in solving such problems.     Polishing of copper and brass

    W wyniku procesu elektropolerowania miedzi i mosiądzu uzyskuje się jednolity połysk całej powierzchni – bez użycia jakichkolwiek środków mechanicznych i ściernych. Efektem polerowania jest czysta, gładka i błyszcząca powierzchnia. Proces elektropolerowania nie tylko poprawia wizualny stan powierzchni, ale również pozwala na lepszą przyczepność powłok nakładanych na wygładzoną powierzchnię materiału.  Dlatego proces elektropolerowania miedzi i mosiądzu może być zarówno końcowym etapem obróbki lub też przygotowaniem powierzchni przed lakierowaniem, galwanizowaniem i powlekaniem.

    Uwagi dotyczące dostarczenia detalu:
    – dostarczenie detalu w rozkręconych elementach,
    – powierzchnia materiału powinna być gładka, żeby polerowanie elektrolityczne umożliwiło uzyskanie połysku,
    – polerowanie elektrolityczne nie usuwa zarysowań mechanicznych,
    – przed polerowaniem elektrolitycznym powierzchnia detalu nie może być lakierowana,
    – w przypadku renowacji elementów z miedzi i mosiądzu, należy całkowicie usunąć warstwę starego lakieru (jedną z metod jest drobnoziarniste piaskowanie, a zastosowanie klasycznej metody piaskowania uniemożliwi uzyskanie połysku w procesie polerowania elektrolitycznego),
    – po procesie elektrolitycznego polerowania elementy są foliowane i przesyłane do Klienta, Klient powinien je polakierować we własnym zakresie.

    Pickling


    Pickling provides cleaning and protection of metal surface.

    Pickling removes from metal surface dirt, rust and otherwise hard to remove welding scale. In result, it gives an uniform mat-grey steel surface. Pickling produces on steel surface a layer of chromium oxide, which considerably increase chemical resistance. So this process produces also passivation  effect. Pickling is therefore a first step prior to electrochemical polishing.

    Passivation


    Passivation provides surface protection for stainless steel.

    Some steel grades are not suitable for pickling or electrochemical polishing. Passivation does not change neither surface structure of article, nor its macroscopic properties, but substantially improves corrosion resistance. Some steel grades are not suitable for pickling or electrochemical polishing. They, being stainless, have to low content of chromium and nickel alloy additions. To improve their corrosion resistance, chemical passivation is used. This passivation does not change neither surface structure of article, nor its macroscopic properties, but substantially improves corrosion resistance.

    Cleaning copper and brass


    Cleaning and passivation of soldered elements.

    Cleaning and passivation process can remove dirt and discoloration from the surface of soldered parts made of copper and brass. On a clean surface, at the next stage of the process, is produced organic passive layer which largely protects the surface from oxidation.

    Chromating


    Chromating provides building up passive coating on aluminum articles.

    This layer considerably improves corrosion resistance of material, preserving at the same time mechanical strength. Created layer has slightly blue opalescence and it does not degrade at high temperatures. Parameters of chromating process determine resulting coating thickness of article. In this way specific selection of parameters: time, temperature and bath composition, allows to get properties exactly to customer  requirements. Chromating may be used in many aspects ? as improvement of corrosion resistance of aluminum, surface preparation prior to painting and gluing and obtaining decorative effects like change in gloss and color of processed surface.
